Jord Nelsen, President and Interim Executive Director

I make sculpture as my primary creative pursuit. I studied under Paul Buckner at the University of Oregon, graduating with a BFA in 1995. I worked as a sole proprietor contractor for 10 years thereafter until I suffered a brainstem stroke as a result of a construction accident. In 2015, Third Space gave me a platform in which it was possible to re-engage in my first career love, the arts. I’m interested in helping others from the “creative class” do the same.
Jamie Angello, Secretary

Jamie Angello received their MFA from UC Davis in 2015 in the fields of painting, drawing and sculpture. Now an arts educator and entrepreneur, Jamie seeks to empower other creative individuals to pursue art as a tool for self-exploration, self-expression and healing.
Shannon Tracy, Treasurer

Shannon Tracy is a native of Baltimore, Maryland who moved to Davis in 2013. While her academic background is focused in the field of science and math, she is also a visual artist who enjoys creating oil portraits, landscapes, and illustrations in a variety of media, and is always looking for opportunities to learn from other artists. Shannon became interested in Third Space as a place to connect with artists and practice figure drawing. When the opportunity to be involved in the Board of Directors as Treasurer arose, Shannon saw an important opportunity to use her talents to help rebuild a vitally important space for artists in Davis. Now living back in Maryland, Shannon continues to act in the role of treasurer and ambassador for Third Space.
Josh Redman (he/they), Events Coordinator

I sadly never got to experience the first incarnation of Third Space – having moved to Davis in Fall of 2019 – but I spent 10+ years organizing all ages music and community events in Santa Barbara at like-minded DIY spaces. I’m excited to help Third Space provide a venue for folks to create and share and learn and be vulnerable in a safe environment.
Bobby Arlen (he/him), Assistant Treasurer

From an early age Bobby has loved bringing people together and creating things with his hands. Although he mostly designs and builds stuff for work, he is known to dabble in the arts when inspired. Occasionally making watercolor cards or music, handmade gifts out of food, wood, clay or metal – Bobby has taken interest in many art forms and media. Leveraging his background in science and engineering, Bobby has expanded his ability to creatively express himself and solve problems with machine tools, lasers and 3D printers. Despite his knack for tech, he has an affinity for craftsmanship, natural materials and manual means of creation. Some of Bobby’s influences come from the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi and Bob Ross, as well as his grandmother who was a locally acclaimed painter/sculptor and his art teacher from grade school, with whom he attended an after-school pottery program for eight years because his parents worked late. Having frequented or fostered forms of community third spaces in the past, Bobby hopes to support people with a safe and accessible arts community through the Third Space Art Collective in Davis.
Sedona Patterson, Materials Manager

I’ve been a part of the Davis community since 2016 and I graduated from UC Davis in 2022 with a degree in Art and Art History. At the Third Space Art Collective I am working to assemble a free art pantry that will encourage the community to share resources. The free art pantry will be open regularly to anyone who wants to donate or access gently used and new art supplies at no cost. In addition I serve on the board as the Materials Manager.
